Modding ship components in campaign

Hi, just wanted to ask for some advice on modding ship components in campaign?

I'm playing Retribution and I'd like to mod the Stellar Folding engine from the normal 6 moves to 15, for example. I've managed to do this for a sandbox game by editing the shipcomponentdefs.xml and its taking effect, but this isn't the case when I play in campaign mode, as it stays at 6 moves?

Any advice would be really appreciated! Thanks
