v 2.72 start menu doesn't hide when game started in Full Screen

I haven't played the game since 2.5, I have opt-in configured so I am on 2.72.   The start menu remains visible after loading the game.   I have tried alt-tab, alt-enter alt, but nothing hides it.   This might be a bug with 2.72.

Is anyone else encountering this issue?
