Just an observation here. In most games of this genre these +research, +economy, +production traits tend to be a final modifier, but here they are additive with all other bonuses and provide no bonus to planets specialized with a different focus. For example, with clever it states I get a 10% bonus to research, but really the bonus is much, much less. Its a nice starting bonus, but even early-mid game, I'm focusing all my research on specialized planets who easily boast 200%+ bonuses to research. Now all clever is doing is adding another 10% on top of that, which is really insignificant. The whole bonus equals the equivalent of a single adjacency bonus on the few research-centric planets in the empire.
As I move onto custom races I'll probably avoid these traits in favor of +morale, and +food traits which actually do provide a universal multiplicative bonus I was seeking. Its kinda funny, but I think the farmers trait may provide a bigger research bonus then clever on top of also adding productivity and income.
Anyone notice this or notice something I missed in my assessment?
What other traits do you guys find too strong or too weak?
