Survey Ship automation -- can we stop them from going after the same anomaly?

Posted on Friday, June 5, 2015

I've enjoyed Galactic Civilizations for years.  I have a "wish" that auto-survey could be programed so that multiple survey ships will not end up all going to the same anomaly.  I have no idea how game codes are written so I don't know if this can be done or not.  It happened in GC2, and it seems to be happening again in GC3.  If I have built five ships to survey the galaxy, even if there are a multitude of anomalies available, they eventually tend to focus on the same anomaly.  Of course the first one gets it, but the others have wasted time by-passing some other anomalies to head to the same one!

It seems that in GC3, with pirate-protected anomalies, that auto-survey "knows" to avoid these, (my experience so far is that I can send ships to the anomaly, but auto-survey avoids them), so I am hoping that some kind of coding can be written that "tells" same-civilization ships to pick a different anomaly if a sister ship already has her sights on a particular anomaly.  Anyway, it's a wish; I won't stop playing if it can't be done.  I can only hope it's not too much to request.
