Is it possible to get a slider or something to select when the strategic view starts?
At the moment, as soon as I zoom out even a tiny bit, it changes to the strategic view. With icons instead of the pretty graphics. Playing on a zoom level where you get graphics are almost impossible imho. Now I can see how this would be a godsend with a big empire and once I've seen all the game has to offer, I'll probably prefer that view. But early on in the game, I would like to see the graphics when zoomed further out, if nothing else to get more of a feel of ownership of my empire.
Now the graphics probably demands a lot more of your PC, and some(moste?) people probably like it around the current level of zoom, so I'm not saying changing the default. But I would love to be able to select this myself.
