So, I bought the game the 14th, a few hours before release.
The game starts normally, (if a bit slow), and the main menu is normal.
Once a new game is started, sometimes the map loads, and after a few seconds the monitor goes black. I have two monitors, both go black, but the other one gets the normal background back after a second or so, while the game monitor stays black, with only the mouse visible. The only thing to do is to force quit from task manager.
Sometimes the game does not start at all, as soon as the galaxy is created the game goes black, sometimes I get to see the starting position for a few second. I've also had a few occasion that there were severe graphical artefacts on BOTH monitors, before the game went black.
I've tried different races, different galaxy sizes, quickstart, normal start, tutorial, all with the same effect.
I had hoped that the official release would fix this, but there does not seem to be a change.
I tried looking for similar problems with google, and within this forum, but found none.

Windows 7 64 bit ultimate SP1
Intel i-7 975 extreme @ 3.33GHz
Radeon HD5970
8GB RAM
I really want to play this game, so if there is a solution, please.
