Lights for ships & outpost colonizing dead rocks

  • Ship Design:
    • Lights? Miss 'em from GC2.
    • If so, could we have dynamic lights? Strobes, flashing, changing colors, etc. I've got a pretty robust system, so why not tax it?
    • Decal: both for your civ (emblems & such) but also name-plates? I enjoy naming my ships & it'd be kewl to have their names on the hulls too!
  • Biodome tech: another tech unlocked at the end-of-the-line for terraforming - outposts. These would be a more expensive & limited capacity version of the colonizers but would allow settlement on any "dead" rocks (e.g., not gas giants) with a 1-hex "habitable" zone (e.g., where the outpost landed.) Very limited population & such, but a high-tech alternative to starbases (e.g., extend influence, line-of-sight, etc., maybe even contribute a bit to shipyards' productivity?) Extensions could include being able to land multiple outlook biodomes on the same dead rock, to some sort of marginal limit (4? dunno). [Just a thought I had while musing during my current game.]
