Simple error, required exiting to desktop with Control + Alt + Delete.
Planet screen doesn't allow for you to exit, either through the regular "done" button or the escape key. Occasionally pressing escape brought me to the shipyard screen for a moment.
Unfortunately there wasn't a crash, so I can't provide a crash report, so this is just a heads up!
