Sense of immediacy

A bit lacking

I don't know but the alpha so far seems to me to be lacking in some sense of immediacy and intimacy, which is opposite to GalCiv2. I feel like I'm not fully in control (maybe because I still haven't got used to the slightly different mechanics?), but I feel like there's something between me and the game.

I'll try to make sense of what's bugging me (no pun intended!) and write it here.

Possible candidates:

-1 queue system: I infinitely prefer building both a building and a ship instead of having to choose one. It's not fun like this

-fog of war system

-orientation of hex tiles and map.

-too much background, not enough focus on planet and ships. Maybe make ships slightly bigger.

-need more solid sounds, if that makes sense.
