I'm just curious as to whether the ability to make your own custom race will be included in GalCiv III, and what improvements and alterations they might make to the system if it is included?
I myself tend to import races I've already made up and play as them, such as the mighty Xin'Ta'Faxi Imperium, whose inherent physical fragility reduces their soldiering ability harshly, but whose telekinetic abilities and mastery of architecture and shipbuilding make their vessels most formidable, to see how they stack up against GalCiv's races. The Xin, for instance, are very bad at defending or attacking ground-side, but make up for this with fleet superiority. This also means that when attacking others they rely heavily on orbital bombardment and robotic drones to supplement an occupation force.
Or indeed the ancient Terelain Star Kingdom, whose population is very small and grows very slowly, giving them a massive penalty to population growth, but whose long life spans and their experience with rebuilding civilisation from the ground up give them bonuses in research and setting up colonies faster (Social production and such)
So, I'm definitely hoping for a more nuanced and expanded customisation ability to really bring custom factions to life, but does anyone have any ideas of what they'd like to see in this respect?
