Ok i LOOKED up the nations of the world by size my list will devide them by fourths Wide, average, tall I mean small, and minor. The Average nation is over half the nations. This proves if tall nations can compete with wide nations. You got to understand a lot of countries are out there, and different people have different ideas what a country is. there are 257 countries on the first list. Some of these countries are territories of another country this list means that different people have a different ideas what a country is. You will see less countries when we compare GDP's. I didn't use the european union. The reason I won't is because I would have to then find a list of all its members to take them off this list. But there would be a GDP of $18,769,286 making them the worlds second largest economy, but then you would have to remove the European countries off this list.
  • This list can be used to compare a real world of tall vs. wide scenarios.

This list measures the GDP by millions of dollars. The list of countries by GDP is smaller than the list of countries by size; which, means that the reason is that the countries that aren't on the list has a GDP of less than one million, or that not everyone has the same idea of what a country is.

Average is over half of the nations. Then the top 1/6 would be wide. The bottom 1/6 would be minor. then the next from the bottom 1/6 would be tall. Half of 260 is 130. Then; each other catagory is 43.

The wide then would be.

This list is based on population not size. The average population equals the games no bonuses, or penalties to Raw Production for the average civilization; except for faction abilities. The biggest countries would have a 40% penalty to production , economy, or both. This would be the 1/5 top civilizations with the most population. The Major civilizations with 1/5 least populations would have 137% to Raw Production, economy, or both. While the Minors have 170% percent Raw Production, economy, or both. 137% means a 37% bonus. 170% means a 70% bonus. Only wide has a penalty. This is what this list tells me. I couldn't find a list based on size, but I found two lists based on population. It would probably have to be tried all three ways; before you can decide which has the best balancing. You could make a class to calculate this at the start of every year. This way a fraction would work better than a number to scale by the number of civilizations on the game. By recalculating this every year this would be more realistic taking into account more colinization, or war.

Ok now we will list the countries by innovation. Not all countries are on this list. International Innovation index.
